The Perfect Shoes

The Perfect Shoes!

By Arnie Slater

You all may remember a few articles I had written and posted here about my search for the best shoes.  I had purchased a pair of Nike Zoom Pegasus33's on online.  A year ago Nike sent me a pair of Nike Zoom Pegasus36's with the Flyese zipper feature in answer to my search. Throughout the year I sent periodic updates to Nike on the condition of my shoes. I alternated the 33's and the 36's daily. This helped reduce SOME of the wear and tear on the shoes.  I'lI be honest though, I know I wore the newer 36's a little more frequently just because of the simplicity and ease of the Flyese feature.I am sure you  active folks out there with CP and other disabilities know how nice it is when it's easy to put shoes on and take them off! You also know how we wear down some shoes FAST!

I am here to tell you that after a year of daily wear, and at least 3 virtual marathons, and a 10K or two, both pairs of Nike Zoom Pegasus shoes STILL remain hole free! THAT is nothing short of a MIRACLE. Not only are these shoes amazingly durable, they are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have EVER OWNED. (I am 52.) Until now I have NEVER had a pair of shoes last beyond 6 MONTHS…. How many shoes is that in 52 years? I'm not that good at math! Until now, If I REALLY liked a pair of shoes I had been known to patch them up with shoe goo, duct tape and cardboard because I would literally put holes in the toe and ruin my socks. How many socks have died in 52 years? Countless holey socks! I cannot even tell you… But! No more! No more will my toes touch the road, or my feet meet the street.

Nike's Zoom Pegasus shoes are not cheap at $120.00 a pair! But, I'm here to tell you that they are worth every penny! I am sold! (This is not a paid advertisement for Nike and I am not a Nike employee…. but I wish!😎) It took me 52 years to find shoes this good.!

My red 33's and my black 36's you can see wear in the left toe….but NO HOLES after a YEAR of daily wear!

Keep Movin Y'all 😎

Arnie
